Crushing & Screening
in South Florida
Mobile on-site processing that turns demolition debris into spec-grade base material. We bring the plant to your job site: no hauling raw concrete, no buying new limerock.
On-Site Material Processing
Turn Your Debris Into Base Material
South Florida Demolition Services provides mobile on-site crushing and screening across South Florida, turning concrete and asphalt debris into valuable recycled concrete aggregate directly on your job site. On large demolition and site preparation projects, debris is often viewed as a costly problem — we process that masonry into spec-grade road base or structural sub-base, turning your liability into the solution.
Instead of loading raw demolition debris into trucks to pay tipping fees at a landfill, and then ordering and trucking in virgin limerock base, you process what you have on site and use it in place. The savings are real on any project where the debris volume and base material requirements are both significant. We've been providing crushing and screening across Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Collier counties since 1992, and now across the Tampa Bay area as well.

Scope of Work
What We Process
Concrete & Asphalt Crushing
-
Foundation & Slab Processing
Old foundations, floor slabs and footings broken and fed through our mobile jaw crusher. Output is sized RCA (recycled concrete aggregate), ready for use as road base or structural sub-base.
-
Asphalt Grinding & Reuse
Parking lot and roadway asphalt processed into RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement). RAP is reusable base material on the same site or at a future project. Keeps asphalt out of the landfill.
-
Masonry & Block Processing
Concrete block, brick and masonry debris run through the crusher and screened to spec. Common on commercial gut jobs and building teardowns where the masonry volume makes hauling impractical.
Screening & Material Separation
-
Multi-Deck Vibrating Screens
Crushed material run through multi-deck vibratory screens to separate fines, clean stone and oversized pieces. You get multiple output sizes in a single pass, each stockpiled separately for immediate use.
-
Fines Separation
Fine material (dirt, dust and small particles) separated from the aggregate and stockpiled for use as fill or disposed as needed. Fines mixed into base aggregate are a compaction problem. We separate them.
-
Spec-Grade Output
End product meets Florida DOT gradation specs for road base and sub-base applications. We can confirm the spec before mobilizing so your site-prep crew has a material they can compact directly.
Site Processing & Logistics
-
On-Site Mobilization
We bring the plant to your job site: jaw crusher, screening deck, conveyors and support equipment. Processing happens where the debris is. You skip the cost of loading and hauling raw debris off the site.
-
Integrated Demo & Crush
For large demolition projects, we can run crushing operations concurrent with or immediately after demolition. Demo crew tears down, crush crew processes. No delay between phases.
-
Haul-Away if Needed
If you don't have a use for the processed aggregate on this project, we haul the RCA. You still benefit from lower landfill tipping fees since processed aggregate costs far less to dispose of than raw demolition debris.
How It Works
The Crushing Process
Site Assessment
We walk the site, assess material type and volume, confirm access for equipment and verify what permits are required. You get a fixed-price quote before anything is scheduled.
Permitting
We handle any required air quality or construction debris processing permits for the jurisdiction. Nothing mobilizes until the paperwork is clean.
Mobilization
Jaw crusher, screening deck and support equipment staged on your site. We handle equipment placement to keep the processing operation clear of active demo work.
Primary Crushing
Raw concrete, asphalt and masonry fed through the jaw crusher. Crusher gap set to produce the target aggregate size for your application: road base, sub-base or fill.
Screening & Separation
Crushed material run through the vibrating screen deck. Fines separated from clean stone. Multiple output sizes stockpiled separately. Oversized material returned for a second pass.
Stockpile & Grade
Finished aggregate stockpiled at the use point or loaded for haul-away. Site left clean and organized. Processed material is ready for immediate compaction by your site-prep crew.
Why Work With Us
What Sets Us Apart
We Own the Equipment
Our mobile crushing and screening plant is company-owned, not rented for each job. That means no scheduling delays waiting on a rental yard, and no markup on equipment costs passed through to you. We mobilize on our timeline, not a rental company's availability.
South Florida Rock Knowledge
South Florida's subsurface is coral rock and Miami limestone, some of the hardest aggregate in the state. We've been processing it since 1992. We set crusher gaps and screen decks for local material, not generic settings that waste passes and produce out-of-spec output.
Licensed Contractor, Not a Broker
Some outfits coordinate crushing work through a subcontractor chain. We are the contractor: Florida Certified General Contractor CGC1540779. Our operators are our employees. When we quote a crushing project, that is the crew and equipment that shows up. Fully insured through Admirals Insurance Group.

Common Questions
Crushing & Screening FAQ
- What is RCA and can I use it as base material?
- RCA stands for Recycled Concrete Aggregate: crushed concrete processed to a specific gradation. In Florida, properly processed RCA meets FDOT specifications for road base, structural sub-base and construction entrances. It performs the same function as virgin limerock base but comes from material you already own on-site.
- What types of material can you crush and screen?
- Concrete, asphalt, masonry block, brick and native rock. We do not process contaminated debris, hazardous material or mixed waste with significant organic content. If the material composition is unusual, we'll assess it on the site visit before committing to a scope.
- Is there a minimum project size?
- Mobilizing a crushing and screening plant has fixed setup costs, so smaller volumes rarely pencil out. As a general rule, projects with less than a few hundred tons of processable debris are more economical to haul. We'll give you an honest answer on the estimate call. If crushing doesn't save you money on your specific volume, we'll say so.
- Do you need a permit for on-site crushing?
- It depends on the jurisdiction and project duration. Some counties require an air quality permit or construction and demolition debris permit for on-site processing operations. We handle the permit research and applications as part of project setup. Nothing starts until the permitting is clean.
- How does on-site crushing lower project costs?
- Two ways: it eliminates most of the hauling cost for raw demolition debris, and it produces base material you would otherwise have to purchase and truck in. On large commercial jobs, both of those line items are substantial. The savings depend on haul distance, tipping fees and how much base material your site plan calls for. We work through the numbers on the estimate.
- Can you crush material while demolition is still ongoing?
- Yes. On large projects we stage crushing operations to run concurrent with or immediately behind the demolition crew. The demo side feeds debris, the crush side processes it. Combining phases cuts total project duration and keeps the site organized rather than letting debris pile up.
- Does on-site crushing qualify for LEED credits on a South Florida project?
- Yes. On-site material processing and reuse qualifies under the LEED Materials and Resources (MR) credit category for Construction and Demolition Waste Management. By reusing Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) on your site, you drastically reduce both landfill disposal and new material procurement, and we can provide the exact volume documentation required for your certification.
- How do you control dust and noise during crushing operations in South Florida?
- We control dust by running high-volume water suppression systems directly on our crushers and screening decks, aided naturally by South Florida's high humidity. To manage noise, we coordinate with local building departments and operate strictly within permitted hours — typically 7 AM to 6 PM on weekdays — ensuring compliance when working in mixed-use or residential areas.
